Witnesseth that the Said John Benedict Thomas & Nancy Payne for and in consideration of the Sum of two hundred Dollars paid the Receipt here in acknowledged have Granted Bargained and Sold and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell and Release unto Robert Walters all that Tract or parcel of land hereafter described begining on a Pine 3X on the bank of Shole Creek Running thence S.60 W 29.50 To W. Oak 3X thence N 59.N.[sic; probably should be "N 59.W."] 9 ch's To stake near the gate Thence S 36.W.4.50 to a stake P. Oak 3X Thence S. 59. E 29 chs to a Pine 3X Thence S.25.E.13 to fallen down W.O. 3X and Pointer Thence N 65.E.39 chains to the Bank of the Creek where Stands a dividing W.O. 3X Thence down the said Creek to the begining-- the same being One hundred and thirty nine acres more or less and being a part of a tract of land Granted to Thomas Carter and we do hereby bind Our Selves Our heirs Executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend the Land aforesaid unto the said Robert Walters his heirs Executors and administrators against the claim of any person whatsoever in Witness where of we have here unto Set Our hands and Seals the day first Written--- Signed Sealed and deliverd in ) John C Payne (L.S.) presence of ) Benedict Payne (L.S.)
