Meadows rwmeadows@charter.net November 25, 2003, 10:33 pm Written: June 24 1812 Recorded: July 6 1812 Nathaniel Payne to Poyndexter Payne, 24 June 1812 Franklin County, Georgia, Deed Book TTT, left-hand page of folio 25: This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between Nathaniel Payne of the County of Cty Warren and State of Tennessee of the one part and Poyndexter Payne of the district of Pendleton and State of South Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of two [right-hand page of folio 25] hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the Said Poyndexter Payne the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold alien, convey and confirmed and do by these presents grant bargain Sell allien convey and confirm unto the Said Poyndexter Payne his heirs and assigns for ever a certain tract or parcele of land situate lying and being in the County of Franklin and State of Georgia on the middle fork of broad River it being part of a nine hundred acre Survey originally granted Thomas Payne Begining at the North west corner of the said nine hundred acre Survey runing down Said line which be down the said middle fork of broad river to William O. Whitney's corner thence along William O. Whitney's line far enough to run the course of the first line from the said William O. Whitney to the upper line of Said Survey thence along the upper line of Said Survey To the begining So as to make two hundred and twenty five acres, to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land together with all and Singular the the rights, profits amuliments, hereditraments and appurtenances of in & to the Same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use Benefit & Behoof of him the said Poyndexter Payne his heirs and assigns forever and I Nathaniel Payne for my Self my heirs Executors administrators and assigns do covenant and agree to and with the Said Poyndexter Payne his heirs and assigns that the before recited land and bargained premises I will warrant and forever defend against the right title claim Interest or demand of all and Every person or manner of person whatsoever.
