Given under my hand this 5th Day of January 1801-- Test Shrewsbury Payne Robert Walters J.P. Rec'd 8th March 1811 [Transcriber's notes: 1) The clerk placed consecutive numbers only on the right-hand pages. This entry is on the left-hand page, which bears no number. The right-hand page is numbered 144. 2) This is the entire entry. Occasionally, the clerk recorded documents with no indication that anyone had appeared at court to authenticate them. 3) The zero in the year 1801 is not perfectly written by the clerk, but it does appear clearly to be a zero and not a one. Apparently, Shrewsbury Payne relinquished any further claim to the estate of his deceased brother almost ten years before his brother's estate was finally settled, and stated his satisfaction with his share of his father's estate at least ten years before his father died.] Submitted by: Robert W.
