Witnesseth that the said Mason Shumate for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars to him the receipt herein acknowledged have granted and bargained and by these presents do grant Bargain Sell and release unto John Belamy all that tract or parcel of land Hereafter described beginning at a Spanish oak X on Hunters Old line Runing thence S 10 E 31.62 to Black Oak X Thence S 80 W 31.62 to B.O. X on the Bank of a Branch Thence N 14. W 30.5 chains to a Pine X on said Hunters Old line thence on said old line to the beginning corner the same being one hundred acres more or less and being a part of a tract of land originally granted to David Hillhouse on waters of Middle Broad River Together with all and singular the rights members houditraments and appartainances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and I do hereby bind my self my heirs Executors & Administrators to warrant and forever defend the land and premises aforesaid unto the said John Brewster (sic) his heirs Executors and Administrators against the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever claiming the Same or any part there of In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal the day first written Mason Shumate SEAL Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of John Brawner William Johnson J.P.
