This Indenture made this 12th day of March in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred &
nineteen Between Groves Yarbrough of the one part
and Stephen Chatham of the other part both of the
State & County aforesaid Witnesseth,  that the said
Groves Yarbrough for & in consideration of the sum
of three hundred Dollars paid the rect herein
acknowledged, have Granted Bargained & Sold and by
these presents do Grant Bargain Sell & Release unto
Stephen Chatham all that tract or parcel of land
hereafter Described Begining at a Stake Corner on
said Yarbroughs ole line on the North Bank of Middle
Broad River Runing thence N 55.6 14 chs to an old
poplar 3x thence N. 35.W. 12 Chs. 36 links to a
Forked Gum 3x Thence S. 55 W. by a marked line 14
chs to a Stake on the Bank of the River near a Beach
thence & over said river to the Beginning the same
being fifteen acres and being part of a Bounty
originally Granted to James Yarbrough.  Together
with all & singular the Rights members Heredetements
and appartenances there unto Belonging & I do hereby
bind myself my heirs executors & administrators to
warrant and forever Defend the land and premises
aforesaid unto the said Stephen Chatham his heirs
Executors & Administrators against the claim of any
person whatsoever claiming the same or any part
thereof in witness whereof I have hereunto set my
hand & seal the day first written

Personally came Benjamin Starrett before John E
Carson acting Justice of the Inferior Court and
being duly sworn saith that he saw Graves Yarbrough
sign seal and Deliver this Deed of conveyance and
that James Yarbrough was also subscribing witness
together with himself
