The story concerned the wedding of Col. John Anderson McDuff to the former Miss Ida Lundy. The Colonel's marriage took place in the Fulton County Courthouse with Judge Virlyn Moore tying the knot. Col. McDuff is now practicing law in Atlanta, the article stated, after he sought sanctuary in Madison County for two years. These two years were spent after the Colonel unsuccessfully sued a previous lady friend for heart balm. Many Franklin Countains will remember Col. McDuff as the "Ladies Man of the World," a title which he had held over 40 years. Other titles which he has assumed are "The Voice of Tom Watson," "The Original Roosevelt Man," and the latest, "The Confidential and Personal Advisor to Gov. Eugene Talmadge."
