LAVONIA--The Lavonia Carnegie Library held the Carnegie Color Crawl April 1. the 
run raised $1,800. Half of the proceeds will go to fund the library's 2023 Summer 
Reading Program.  the program pays for performer fees, prizes and decorations for 
the annual youth summer program.  The other $900 was donated to the CDH 
(Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) Stars and Angels. Brenda Mertes, who came out 
from Texas to be CDH's representative, was presented the check. Pictured are (from 
left) Sherry Corn, Opal Corn, Brenda Mertes and Maggie West.
