The following Franklin county men have been appointed by General Fowler as members 
of the County Draft Board; Fred Dean, Royston; Lonnie Pierce and Hoyt Smith, 
Lavonia; and Joe C. Crawford, Carnesville, Rt. 2. Offices for the Board are in 
Royston.

Registration of men eligible for the new draft begins next Monday, Aug. 30th. In 
the public interest, the schedule of registration, as released by the State 
Selective Service Headquarters is reproduced herewith;

If you were born in the year 1922, after August 30, you must register for 
Selective Service on Monday August 30th.

If you were born in 1924, you must register Thursday, Sept. 2 or Friday Sept. 3.

If you were born in 1925, you must register Saturday, Sept. 4 or Tuesday, Sept. 7.

If you were born in 1926, you must register Wednesday, Sept. 8 or Thursday, Sept. 
9.

If you were born in 1927, you must register on Friday, Sept. 10 or Saturday, Sept. 
11.

If you were born in 1928, you must register on Monday, Sept. 13 or Tuesday, Sept. 
14.

If you were born in 1929, you must register on Wednesday, Sept. 15 or Thursday, 
Sept. 16.

If you were born in the year 1930, before Sept. 19, 1930, you must register on 
Friday, Sept. 17 or Saturday, Sept. 18.

If you were born after Sept. 19, 1930, you must register on the day you attain 
your 18th birthday or within five days thereafter.

Brig. Gen. Alpha A. Fowler, Georgia Selective Service Director, cautioned all men 
within the 18 to 26 age group that, even though draft exemption is obvious for any 
given individual, ALL men MUST register.
