The first appointments for the next administration have been announced from the 
offices of Governor Elect Talmadge. Among them, was the appointment of Mr. Ernest 
Vandiver, Jr., of Lavonia, who will be an aide to the Governor.

The youthful Vandiver is one of Georgia's youngest Mayors. Now serving as head of 
the City Government of Lavonia. His father, Mr. S. E. Vandiver, Sr., was a member 
of the State Highway Board during the previous Talmadge administration, serving 
from 1940 to 1943.
