Carnesville Herald And Advance April 19, 1956
Family Life Day at Carnesville, Saturday, April 7, featured a panel discussion on 
"Atomic Age: Challenge to Farm Family Living." The all-day event was sponsored by 
the Franklin Home Demonstration Council. Panelists shown, front (left to right) 
Mrs. John Whiten, Red Hill HD leader; Miss Eddie Ross, Georgia Home Demonstration 
leader; Miss Jerri Bond, FCHS senior; back (left to right) Joe Wang, Lavonia FFA 
leader; Cecil Blackwell, Extension horiculturist, Athens; Lt.-Gov. Ernest Vandiver 
of Lavonia; Bill Frankum, Red Hill livestock grower; Loy W. Smith, agriculture 
teacher at Lavonia High School; Dr. Herbert A. Otto, assistant professor of 
education at University of Georgia, moderator.
