The Carnesville Herald And Advance January 22, 1931
Forging ahead in the last quarter to overcome the University of Georgia Freshmen 
29 and 21, the Carnesville basket ball five showed that they must be ranked with 
the strongest High School teams in the state. The game was one of the fastest ever 
staged on the local court.

The playing of the entire local in his position. Featuring the game was the fancy 
goal shooting by R. Burroughs and Brat South, the floor work of Ray Wilson, and 
the guarding of Williams and H. Burroughs. For the Bull Pups, Costa, old Athens 
High star, and Webb showed best.

With a little better pass work better coordination in team work, and a smoother 
offense Carnesville seems to be destined to go places in basket ball this year.
