The Jackson Herald April 23, 1936
Royston, Ga.--The Johnson hotel, two-story brick veneer structure, was destroyed 
by fire Friday morning. About 20 guests escaped without difficult.

The fire started in the kitchen, a frame annex, and spread to the hotel
