The Carnesville Herald August 31, 1950
A reservist of the 1st Battalion, 2d Lt. Harold W. York, Carnesville, 22d Inf. 
Regt. of the 81st Infantry Division Reserve commanded by Major Warren F. Daniel 
Jr. Lexington, Georgia completed their first week of summer training with the 
famous 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg N.C. Sunday Aug. 27. During the first 
weeks training the men of the 81st, under the command of Brigadier General Carl T. 
Sutherland of Atlanta, GA. underwent rugged practical work, putting into practice 
the theory learned during hometown armory training.
