The Carnesville Herald June 3, 1948
Winner of the Laura Dorough Dyar Trophy for outstanding high school campus 
community service, as awarded by the Georgia Scholastic Press Association at the 
Henry W. Grady School of Journalism, University of Georgia, was the "Pitchfork," 
Marietta High School.  Here the editor of that paper, Mike Edwards, is shown with 
Mrs. Dyar, distinguished Georgia newspaper woman, in whose honor this award was 
set us.
