The fire was discovered by a party passing by who gave the alarm but by the time help could be secured the fire had gained such headway that it was impossible to save the negro woman. She had evidently started out the building and fell near the door. The name of the negro was not learned. The building was a wooden frame structure and burned rapidly. The origin of the fire is unknown.
