Carnesville--Franklin County High School's One Act Play troupe brought home a 
state runner-up finish and Best Actor honors from Saturday's state performance in 
Alpharetta.

FCHS's performance of "Sweeney Todd, School Edition" took second in Class AAA, and 
Jon Erik Tripp won the AAA Best Actor Award.

The second-place finish followed up FCHS's state championship in 2021.  Tripp's 
Best Actor honor was his second straight. In addition, Will Thomas and Ella Grace 
Madden were named to the Class AAA All Star cast.

"My heart is so happy for these guys," Theater Director Charity Henry said in a 
Facebook post, "Our cast and crew worked through the odds of being in light when 
they are normally in a blackout, our follow spot working the entire show trying to 
keep the area on our platform lit, thinking our sound wasn't working for about 
five minutes during our walk through (after we had just discovered the broken 
power cord to our light board), sound check lasting about 10 seconds because we 
were getting close to our 15 minute limit, not being able to light certain areas 
to draw the eye naturally to that location. All those things can get into your 
head. But they were so professional. I couldn't be more proud. And the icing on 
the cake...the crowd LOVED it!"

Franklin earned a spot in the state competition after winning the Region 8AAA 
championship for the fourth year in a row. Cast members were Tripp as Sweeney 
Todd, Madden as Ms. Lovett, Thomas as Judge, Robert Cooke as Beadle, Jonathan Dorn 
as Anthony, Lorelai Gleen as Tobias, Jasmine Crunkleton as Johanna, Alice Tanner 
as Beggar Woman, Dagan Grobe as Pirelli, Isabella Martin as Bird Seller, Fantsia 
Ware and Helena Burton as dancers and Erika Ivie as solo 2/dancer.

Ensemble members are Gracie Tucker, Hallie Seymour, An Tran, Dayne Kimsey, Jon 
Michael Rackely, Nate Bridges, Ella Maisonneuve and Adysen Chastain.

Stage members are Bonnie Greer Madden and Chloe Ho.

Other crew members are Haylee Vu, Drake Segars, Maria Perez, Chase Read, Rachel 
Collins, Trey Frazier, Kallon Hart, Tyler Bennett, Zoie Atkinson, Kylie Porter, 
Roxas Ginn, Danielle Troupe, Karamee McCall, Zipporah Stowers, Ky Robertson, Onnya 
Bookout and Emma Hellmich.

Connor Irvin is assistant director and Riley Whitworth is assistant for the 
production.
