The Carnesville Herald And Advance January 22, 1931
The beautiful home of Mr. Perry Agnew in Canon was completely destroyed by fire 
Wednesday afternoon while Mr. Agnew and family were away from home. They had gone 
to Royston to see the Ford monoplane and were unaware of the loss of their home by 
fire until being informed by friends. Only a few articles of household effects 
were saved.

At the time of going to press the Record representative could not learn whether 
there was any insurance on the building or not. The origin of the fire is unknown.
