The Carnesville Herald And Advance April 25, 1957
Freshmen lefthander Charles Dean pitched Royston High School past Oconee High 
School, 5-4 to win the region 1-B, Area One title at Royston Tuesday. It was 
Dean's fourth win in five starts this year.

Dean had the help of Hubert Strickland's bat and collected four hits himself, 
including two doubles. Strickland powered out two home runs.

On Monday afternoon Royston defeated Carnesville, 4-1, to tie with Oconee County 
in Region 1-B, Area One.

Royston will play the Area 2 champs Thursday.
