90-Year Old Veteran of Confederate Army Passes at Lavonia

Mr. Tapley Bynum Johnson, 90-year old veteran of the Confederate 
Army passed away at his home near Lavonia Monday evening, May 6. 
Mr. Johnson was widely known in this section. He was the son of the 
late Attorney Johnson and was born and reared in Elbert county. 
Funeral services were held at the Old Confidence church where he 
had long had membership. Surviving are his widow, eleven children, 
several grandchildren, and great grandchildren; one brother, 
Lafayette Johnson; and one sister, Mrs. Fanie Slay of Elbert County.
