Burnette, War Veteran, Died Suddenly Family and friends of Mr. Joe Marion Burnette, aged 34, were shocked and grieved to learn of his sudden death Tuesday night, June 22. He was in apparent good health during the days and was about as usual, JOe was a most likable young man, being friendly and accommodating to everyone. He greeted his friends with a smile and the cheery word. He was a member of the Royston Baptist Church. Funeral services were held from the Royston Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock with Rev. J.D. Matheson, his former pastor, and Rev. Roy C. Mathews, officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Burnette served with distinction in World War II and since being discharged has been engaged in farming. In July 1942 he was married to Mis Viola Bagwell, who survives him. In addition to his wife he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Reuben Burnette, two sisters, Misses Blythe and Lettie Burnette, two brothers, R.K. and Robin Burnette, all of Royston. A large number of uncles, aunts and other close relatives also survive. The family have the deepest sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement. Cunningham and Pruitte Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
