Mymie had been a native of Hart county and was the daughter of William F. and Missouri Flemming Byrum and the wide of Tom Carnes. She had also been a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church. She was survived by her sons, Pete Carnes (Hartwell, GA) and J. D. Carnes (Bowersville, GA); her daughters Mrs. Carrie Byrum, Mrs. Willie Motes, and Mrs. O'Neell Bratcher (all in Hartwell, GA) and Mrs. Alberta Brooks (Toccoa, GA); her brother, Bob Byron (Hartwell, GA); 31 grandchildren; 33 great- grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Reverands Wendell Bannister and James Purvis held services on Monday, March 8 at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. She was Buried in Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
