Carnesville Herald, Thursday, Mar. 28, 1946
On March 22nd at 12:15 o’clock, Mrs. A. H. Carson of Red Hill, Franklin County, 
was called to her eternal rest.
	She had been in ill health for 3 years, and on Friday, March 15th was 
stricken with pneumonia from which she did not rally.
	In her death the community has lost one of its best women.  She was a 
faithful member of Allens Methodist Church.  She had been a true Christian her 
entire life.  The esteem in which she was held by those who knew her was 
attested to by a host of friends and relatives who attended her funeral and by the 
lovely floral offerings.
	Mrs. Carson’s maiden name was Miss Hattie Belle Higginbotham.  She 
was a daughter of Mr.  & Mrs. Ruben Higginbotham of Banks County.
	She was married to Mr. Albert Herschel Carson of Ashland, GA on Nov. 
26th 1905.
	She is survived by her husband, 3 daughters as follows, Mrs. Mike 
(Dot) Adams of winder, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Neal of Toccoa, Miss Merle Carson of 
Red Hill; Ervan Ayers of Red Hill, a grandson whom she reared, also survives 
and 6 other grandchildren.   A sister, Mrs. Will Bailey of Commerce; 2 brothers, 
W. M. Higginbotham of Elberton and Joe B. Higginbotham of Hartwell, also 
survive.
	Funeral services were held at Allens Church March 23rd at 2:00 with 
services conducted by her pastor, Rev. C. J. Grilheoff.  Burial was in Mt. Zion 
Methodist Church Cemetery.
	Weldon Funeral Home was in charge.


Additional Comments:
She was predeceased by a dau. Ruby Inez Carson, who was married to  Alonzo 
Clarence Ayers.
