Prominent Franklin County Citizen Dead.
   Franklin county people and many acquaintances in Stephens county were 
greatly shocked Thursday, when news of the death of Mr. J. S. Crawford, of 
near Lavonia, was received.
   Mr. Crawford had suffered for several years from cancer, and succumbed to 
its deadly grasp at 11:30 Wednesday night. He was a pioneer and one of 
Franklin county's best citizens. He was a veteran of the civil war, and had 
been a member of the Baptist church since childhood. When death came the 
deceased was 73 years of age. He is survived by his wife and several children. 
The funeral will be held at Pleasant Hill church Friday morning at 11 o'clock.
