Funeral services for Grady R. Crow, 62, former Franklin County Ordinary and a well 
known resident of Route 2, Carnesville, were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from the 
Liberty Baptist Church near Carnesville with the Rev. Spence Phillips and the Rev. 
Dean Milford officiating.

Hundreds of mourners filled the Liberty Baptist Church and heard the Rev. Phillips 
and the Rev. Milford praise Crow's outstanding service to his country, state and 
nation.  They used as scripture background for their remarks passages from Psalms 
and Romans.  A choir, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. P. L. Walker, beautifully 
sang, "I Will Meet You in the Morning," and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone."

Interment was in the adjoining cemetery with Masons in charge of final rites at 
the graveside. Pallbearers were Roy Grady, Roy Elrod, Jarrell Boleman, J. W. Hart, 
Andrew Floyd and Jessee Feaster.

Mr. Crow, a native of Franklin County and a resident of this section his entire 
life, died at Cobb Memorial Hospital at  3 a.m. Saturday.  He had been in 
declining health for five years and seriously ill for nine days but his death came 
unexpectedly.

He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and a farmer. He also served as a 
justice of the peace for 13 years and one four-year term as Franklin County 
Ordinary.  He was chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee for five years 
and was a member of the Royston Masonic Lodge NO. 52.

He was twice married, first to Mrs. Ethel Adams Crow, who died a number of years 
ago, and then to Mrs. Lessie Mae York Crow, who survives.  In addition to his 
wife, he leaves one stepdaughter, Mrs. Olin McClung, of Decatur; two brothers, 
Ezra and Goldman Crow, both of Royston; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Dawkins, of 
Canon, Mrs. Clara Rowland, of Anderson, S. C., Mrs. Blanche Massey, of 
Carnesville, and Mrs. Ludie Haley, of Royston; two stepgrandchildren.
