Emma Vinson Crowder, 82, of Lavonia, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at her home 
following an extended illness.

Born on May 22, 1924, in Oconee County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late 
Noah and Ada Belle Owens Vinson. She retired from Shuford Mills and was a 
member of the Lavonia Church of God. Mrs. Crowder was preceded in death by 
four brothers, the Rev. Austin, Noah, Glenn, and Ray Vinson.

Survivors include her husband, James Crowder; a daughter, Patricia Ellard, 
Danielsville; sisters, Sedalia Vinson, West Union, S.C., and Martha Barnes, 
Seneca, S.C.; brothers, Charles Vinson, Seneca, S.C., Styles Vinson, Central, 
S.C., and the Rev. R.J. Vinson, Westminister, S.C.; two grandchildren, James 
Merritte Ellard and Candace Ellard; and three great-grandchildren.

Strickland Funeral Home, Lavonia Chapel, Lavonia, was in charge of 
arrangements.
