Lawson Gables, on May 26th. Mrs. Gables passed at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Curtis McCall of a heart ailment from which she suffered for 3 weeks. Funeral services were held from Double Branches Bapt. Church on Sunday, May 27th at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. D. C. Williams. Mrs. Gables is survived by 3 sons: George, Clyde, and Ralph Gables of Canon and a daughter, Mrs. Curtis McCall of Martin. She also has a living brother, Tom Cromer, of Lamar, Kansas. Her husband passed to his reward 40 years ago. Mrs. Gables was born at Cromer's Mill in Franklin County on September 2, 1862, being 82 years of age at the time of her death. She had spent her entire life in the county and the last half century in Double Branches community. She was a daughter of John and Patsy Cromer, both of whom passed to their reward many years ago. Pallbearers were: Robert, Clyde, Herman and Ralph Gables, Stanley Smith and Ray McCall. Weldon Funeral Home.
