Annis Merideth Davis Gilroy, 81, of Royston, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006, 
at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.

She was born in Hart County on May 5, 1925, and was the daughter of the late 
Hester H. and Nancy Lawrence Davis. She worked in the restaurant industry and 
was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mrs. Gilroy was preceded in 
death by a daughter, Joann Boleman; great-grandson, Chris Chastain; brother, 
Howard Davis; and sister, Jenny Partain.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Gunter, Royston; sisters, Cleo 
Blanchard, Jessie M. Baker and Jean Bryan, all of Lakeland, Fla.; seven 
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 3, at the Tabernacle Baptist 
Church with the Revs. Randall Starrett, David Blizzard and Johnny Ashworth 
officiating. Burial was in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Pruitt 
Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
