MRS. J. F. GOODE A GOOD WOMAN HAS ANSWERED ROLL CALL

After several months of illness, Mrs. J. F. Goode passed into her beyond 
Sunday aftersoon about 3 o'clock.  For the past 3 weeks she was seriously ill 
and her suffering came to an end peacefully.
Mrs. Goode was born near Carnesville September 15, 1854 and was married to 
John Fleming Goode on October 15, 1882.  She joined the Baptist church at New 
Bethel during her childhood and her membership has been at Carnesville church 
for years and her remains were intered in the Carnesville cemetery.  R. L. K. 
Parham assisted by Rev. Irby Henderson delivered an impressive and appropriate 
sermon.  
Mrs. Goode was a lovable woman, a good neighbor, a true Christian, loving 
mother and a devoted wife and her good work will bear fruit for years to 
come.  She will be greatly missed by all and leaves many good deeds that marks 
a true and great woman.  She was one of Carnesville's best and most religous 
women.
Besides a host of rerlatives and friends the following members of the family 
were left to mourn her death:  Rev. J. F. Goode, her husband, and 2 sons, Col. 
George L. Goode and Mr. James M. Goode.  2 sisters, Miss Lucy Carson and Mrs. 
H. B. Green of Carnesville; 2 brothers, J. M. Carson of Commerce and A. L. 
Carson of Benton, Arkansas.


Additional Comments:
Mrs. Gooe's date of death was February 15, 1914.
"the Carnesville Church" has been renamed "Cross Roads Baptist Church" and she 
is buried in Cross Roads Cemetery.
