Franklin County Citizen
Calvin Gordon, a 66-year-old from 200 Oak St died on Friday, March 5, 1976; he died
from an illness he'd 
been dealing with for a long time. 

Mr. Gordon was a native of Madison county and the son of Emmett and Margie Hart
Gordon. He was a 
member of the Comer Baptist Church, a charter member of the Comer Lions Club, and a
member of the 
Comer-Shannon Masonic Lodge and the Athens Keystone Chapter Lodge No 1 (also known
as Ram).

He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Maude Smith Gordon (Comer, GA); his son, Carey
Gordon (New York 
City, NY); his sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Jones (Danielsville, GA), Mrs. Faye Hopkins
(Athens, GA), Mrs. Opal 
Spurlock (Chamblee, GA), Mrs. Ruby Hall (Royston, GA), Mrs. Florie Hartman (Hull,
GA); and his brothers, 
J. B. Gordon (Colbert, GA) and Monroe Gordon (Kannapolis, NC).

Dr. John Davidson held services for him on Saturday, March 6, 1976 at the Comer
Baptist Church; he was 
buried in the Comer cemetery
