Azalee Herring, 73, of Commerce, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at BJC Nursing 
Home.

She was born on May 25, 1933, in Madison County, and was the daughter of the 
late John Edgar and Lizzie Mae Hood Cox. She was retired from Blue Bell and 
was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by 
her husband, Will Herring Sr.

Survivors include sons, Will Herring Jr. and Johnny Herring, both of Commerce; 
daughters, Lizzie McLeroy, Athens, Paulette Herring, Commerce, Peggy 
Strickland, Gainesville; and eleven grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 18, at Mount Hermon Presbyterian 
Church Cemetery, Ila, with the Revs. Donald Wilson, Chance Strickland, and 
Will Herring Jr. officiating.
