MRS. J. M. DUNCAN, the former Miss Nora Hubbard, passed away in Atlanta Sunday.
    Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Monday at Lowndes Chapel in 
Atlanta.  Rev. J. D. Aderhold, pastor of Columbia Drive Baptist Church, 
conducted the service.  The remains were brought to Cross Roads in Carnesville 
where graveside services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Aderhold, with 
interment in the family plot at 4 o'clock.
    Mrs. Duncan was born in Franklin County 86 years ago and was the daughter 
of the late Mr. Levi Hubbard and Mrs. Elizabeth Roe Hubbard.  She was the wife 
of the late Mr. John M. Duncan and they lived near Carnesville until they 
moved to Atlanta in 1919.
    She was a member of Confederate Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta and was a 
member of the Eastern Star.
    Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Griffin of Dalton; three 
sons, Messrs. Eulyn Duncan of Atlanta, Merritt Duncan of Decatur and Olin 
Duncan of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Mr. Reuben Hubbard of Dalton, and a number 
of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    "Miss Nora", as she was lovingly known to her friends, was a devoted 
mother and grandmother, and so alert and active for her years.  Even in death 
she was still beautiful and serene.
    "Loving and kind in all her ways,
       Upright and just to the end of her days.
        Sincere and true in her heart and mind,
        Beautiful memories she left behind."
