Before marriage in 1884, she was Miss Emma Lenora Tucker, member of a prominent Hart county family. Her husband, Mr.Madison M. Jordan, preceded her to the grave many years ago. He was for many years a member of the county board of commissioners, and a prominent leader in this section. Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Methodist Church and in her active days took part in all church activities. It can be truly said that she lived a life of unselfishness and service to those near and dear to her. Funeral services were held from the Royston Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock, Rev. G.F. Venable officiating, interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. She is survived by eight children, Mrs. W.H. Collins, Royston, Mrs. W.P Estes, Hartwell, Mrs.S.R. Brown, Atlanta, Charlie C. Jordan, Wilmington, N.C., Dr. R.K. Jordan, Palmetto, Ga., Mrs. C.M. Lay, Atlanta, Ga. Miss Jane Jordan, New York, N.Y. Mrs. C.E. Waters, Ellijay, Ga. One sister, Mrs. C.P. Ray, Lavonia, 15 grandchildren and many other relatives to mourn her death.
