Pruitt Funeral Home, September 28, 2024
Mr. James Lumuel “Lum” Kennedy, 80, of Canon, GA, passed away on Friday, September 
27, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Kennedy was born on June 16, 1944, in Carnesville, GA, son of the late Howard 
Broughton Kennedy and the late Tommie Bailey Kennedy. He was a self-employed 
logger, a member of the Bowersville Masonic Lodge 595, and a member of Liberty 
Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Kennedy; and 
two brothers, Roger Kennedy, and Mac Kennedy.

Survivors include his wife, Reggie Nell Broome Kennedy; daughters, Renea Hill 
(Jerome) of Canon, GA, Lorrie Shaw (Steve) of Bowman, GA, Hayley Wheeler (Thomas) 
of Carnesville, GA; brothers, Tim Kennedy and Carter Kennedy, both of Canon, GA; 
sister, Rachel Tiegh (Mike) of Canon, GA; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great 
grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 
p.m. on Sunday evening, September 29, 2024. During other times, the family will be 
at the home.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Family Hospice of Athens, GA.

Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
