Mrs. Ida Martin

Toccoa, April 22  -- Mrs. Ida Frances Purcell Martin, 83, prominent and widely 
known martron of the Prospect Church community, died in the local hospital 
last night at 9:40 o'clock. Mrs. Martin, the widow of Will T. Martin, suffered 
a heart attack at her home Tuesday morning. 
The daughter of the late Jim Purcell and the late Mrs. Tina Kesler Purcell, 
she was born October 30, 1869 in Franklin County and had lived in that 
community all her life.
She was a lifetime member of the Prospect Methodist Church. 
She is survived by ten children, Mrs. Howard Cash, Carnsville; Mrs. Tom 
Martin, Homer; Doyle Martin, Bessemer, Ala,; Warren Martin Spartanburg, S. 
C. ; Mrs. W. L. Knox, Martin; Durel Martin, Toccoa; Ralph Martin, Gallapolis, 
Ohio; Raymond Martin, San Salvador, Central America; Mrs. Frank Turk, 
Cornelia; one brother, General Purcell of Ashland; Three Half-brothers, Walton 
Purcell, Toccoa; Homer Purcell, Clarksville; and Buren Purcell, Orlando, 
Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Lige Cash Ashland, Mrs. C. T. Miller, Carnesville; 
Two Half-sisters Mrs. John Thompson, Toccoa; Mrs. Clifton Hughes, Orlando, 
Florida.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. from the Prospect Methodist 
Church with the Rev. Frank Moorhead, The Rev. Ryan Seawright and the Rev. C. 
C. Cliett officiating. The body, now at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home, to be 
carried to the family residence at 2:15 Thursday. 
Burial will be in the Prospect Methodist Cemetery.
