HARRISON L. McCRARY, JR., 26, who was in the Death March at Bataan, and died of fever in a Japanese prison camp in May, 1942, were re-interred Friday, February 11th, in Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston, following funeral services from Royston Methodist Church at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Roy P. Ethridge, pastor, and Rev. Roy C. Matthews, Baptist pastor, were in charge. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Delina Brown McCrary; 3 sisters, Mrs. W. C. Jones and Mrs. Imogene Lester of Wadley, and Mrs. Delina Barton of Royston; a brother, Stewart McCrary of Gainesville. His father was the late Dr. H. L. McCrary of Royston. Pvt. McCrary was a native of Royston. He entered the service of his country June 14, 1941, trained in Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland, was in Chemical Warfare and was later sent to the Savannah Air Base. He went overseas in November, 1941, and served in Bataan. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Cunningham & Pruitte were in charge.
