Carnesville Herald, April 28, 1938
Mrs. G. C. McFarlin, 59, died at her home near New Bethel Saturday, April 23, 
after nine days illness of pneumonia.
	She is survived by her husband and two sons and six grandchildren.  
She was a faithful member of New Bethel church and a good Christian woman, a 
devoted companion and mother.
	Funeral services were held at New Bethel church Sunday, April 24th at 
3:00 P.M., her pastor, Rev. G. F. Wilson officiating.  Interment followed in 
the church cemetery.
	The many beautiful floral offerings and large concourse of relatives 
and friends attested to the high esteem in which she was held.
	The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathy of a large circle of 
friends.
	B. D. Ginn was in charge.

Her husband, General Custer McFarlin was b. Dec 6, 1876, Franklin Co. & d.
May 13, 1940, Franklin County.
Their son was John Avant McFarlin b. June 13, 1902, d. Nov. 15, 1969
Possible other son was Grover C. Hughes, shown in the censuses as living with 
them.
