Mr. Means was killed in the tornado there Tuesday, being caught in one of the buildings that burned to the ground. Identification was made by his wrist watch, ring and knife. He was an employee of the Hill Laundry Co., and had just reported for work when the tornado struck. He was son of the late Rufe Means, and had left Franklin country about five years ago for his present location. He was about 38 years of age and was well known as a young man of sterling character and energy. He had been married only a few months. We understand that interment will take place today at Indian Creek Baptist Church after funeral services conducted by Rev. J. C. Fulbright. The deceased is survived by his young wife, his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Means, one brother, Clarence Means, and four sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Coffee, Mrs. Hub Westbrook, Mrs. Jim Westbrook, Mrs. Victoria Wood. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of all citizens in his untimely passing. Additional Comments: Parents were Rufus Augustus and Nancy Dorothy McConnell Means.
