Walter Neal Napier, 68, of Lavonia died August 20, 2013, at AnMed Health in 
South Carolina.
 Born August 12, 1945, in Nashville to the late Laura Griffin and John 
Thomas “Tom” Napier, Jr., he was a graduate of Berrien High School and Abraham 
Baldwin Agricultural College. He worked with Sears in Valdosta and Atlanta for 
several years and later owned and operated North Georgia Hydraulics. He served 
in the United States Army and the National Guard. In addition to his parents, 
he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Randle Napier and John Thomas 
Napier, Jr.
 Survivors include one daughter, Susan Shane Sheffield of Valdosta; sons, Neal 
Napier of Atlanta, Michael (Andrea) Napier of Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael 
and Chase Spires, Charlotte and Savannah Napier; three great-grandchildren; 
brother, Charles D. Napier of Nashville; sister, Kathleen Moore of Hahira; 
aunts, Lois Watson and Nina Billingsley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 The family honored his request for cremation.
 A memorial was held August 23 at 11 a.m. at Lavonia First Baptist First 
Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Finger officiating.
