Franklin County Citizen
Royston--George B. Parten, 82, of 4700 Sandy Cross Rd., husband of Bertha Phillips 
Parten, died Friday, Feb. 11, 1994 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.

Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Bennett and Tersie Phillips 
Parten. He was a retired merchant in the grocery industry and was a member of New 
Hope Congregational Holiness Church.
Surviving are wife; sisters, Ellis Sorrells, Carmel Parten, Madge Parten, Montene 
Parten, Lucy Haley and Winnie Patterson of Royston; brothers, Bill Parten and 
Travis Parten of Royston; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services were at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at New Hope Congregational Holiness 
Church by the Revs. Dennis Kesler and Larry Phillips. Burial was in the Cary 
Memorial Gardens.
Pruitte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
