Zion Community of Franklin County and wife of Irria Payne, died at the family residence Monday, July 26, 1965 following 3 years of declining health and a serious illness of about 3 weeks. A daughter of the late Arthur and Maude Wood Thomason, she was born July 16, 1913, in Franklin County and resided there all her life. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Meth. Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Laverne Payne of the home; 4 brothers, Omer, Fred, Curtis and C. D. Thomason, all of Carnesville, GA. 3 sisters: Mrs. Joe Batson of Toccoa, GA; Miss Madge Thomason and Miss Vonice Thomason, both of Carnesville, GA. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday,July 27, 1965 at Mt. Zion United Meth. Church with Rev. Ryan Seawright and Rev. Kenneth Deitle officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
