WELDON T. PHILLIPS, SR., were held at Zidon Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Arthur Jackson, Rev. Herman Purcell and Rev. Kenneth Dietle officiated and burial was in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Phillips was a daughter of Mr. George James and Martha Webb James, pioneer citizens of Franklin County. She suffered a broken hip on December 30 and death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage on February 8th. She was a member of Gordon Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Loyd and Theodore of Royston, Roy of Greenville, SC, and Rev. W. T. Phillips, Jr., of Woodruff, SC; Mrs. W. H. Rice of Royston and Mrs. Lurie Wood of near Danielsville; a daughter in law, Mrs. Edna Phillips of Carnesvillle; 24 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He only surviving sister is Mrs. John F. Phillips of Royston. Cunningham-Pruitt Funeral Directors were in charge.
