Royston--Dewitt Edward Phillips Sr., 72, of Route 1, Royston, husband of Rannie 
Lou Sartain Phillips, died Thursday, Nov. 27, at Cobb Memorial Hospital.

Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late M.C. and Lonie Cape Phillips. He 
was a member of Zidon Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife of the home; sons, Dewitt Edward Phillips Jr. of Decatur and 
James G. Phillips of Royston; daughters, Mrs. Henry (Dot) Austin of Commerce, Mrs. 
Thomas (Geraldine) Grizzle, Mrs. Calvin (Shirley) Royston and Mrs. Jerry D. 
(Patricia) Hart of Royston; brothers, Boyd, Dorsey, and Hubert Phillips of 
Royston; sisters, Mrs Willie Ruth Hart of Royston and Mrs. Berlene Reeves of 
Athens; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted Saturday, Nov. 29, at Zidon Baptist Church by the Revs. 
Paul Collins and Hoyt Dove. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, was in charge of arrangements.
