Royston, Ga--Mrs. Retha Parten Phillips, 51, wife of Hubert Phillips, of the SAndy 
Cross community died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday in Cobb Memorial Hospital following an 
illness of two weeks.

She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Parten, of near Royston, who survive her, 
and a member of Zidon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and her husband, 
she is survived by five sons, Vincent Phillips and Randy Phillips of the home, 
Eugene Phillips of Royston, C.L. Phillips of Carnesville, and James Byrl Phillips 
of Royston; one daughter, Mrs. Charlie Wendell Hall, of Abbevill, S.C.; six 
grandchildren; three brothers, George, Bill, and Travis Parten, all of Royston; 
seven sisters, Mrs. Jewell Sorrells, Mrs. Arthur Haley, Mrs. Robert Brooks, Miss 
Carmel Parten, Miss Madge Parten, Miss Winnie Lou Parten and Miss Montene Parten, 
all of Royston.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday from Zidon Baptist Church with 
Rev. Robert Thomas and Rev. S.A. Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Zidon 
Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the Young People's Sunday School Class of Zidon Chuch will serve as 
flower girls. The body will be at the residence after 10 a.m. Friday until the 
services.

The Pruitte-Herring Funeral Home is in charge.
