(Bod) Phillips were held February 27th from the Pennington Chapel with the Reverends W. J. Nash, Spence Phillips and W. A. Woodruff officiating. Mr. Phillips was 88 and was a beloved resident of the Sandy Cross community and an established citizen of Franklin County. In 1880 he married Miss Sarah S. Carey, who preceded him in death. He died February 25th, at his home after an illness of four months. Heart trouble was the cause of death. He is survived by six children; Lester H. Phillips, Mrs. Tersey Parten, Clarence Phillips, James Little, Cluster Phillips, and Isom S. Phillips, all of Royston, and by 36 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.
