L. Phillips, 54, of Route 1, husband of Annie Ruth Fowler Phillips, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 1984, at BJC Hospital, Commerce. Born in Franklin County, he was a son of Hubert Phillips of Royston and the late Retha Parten Phillips. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Gordon Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War 2. Surviving are father; widow of the home; stepmother, Mrs. Lucille Phillips of Royston; son, Christ L. Phillips of the home, daughter, Mrs. Judy Jones of Royston; brothers, Eugene and Randy Phillips of Royston, James B. Phillips of Carnesville, Vincent Phillips of Miami, Fla.; half brother, Douglas Phillips of Royston; sister, Mrs. Charles W. Hall of Abbeville, S. C.; grandmother, Mrs. B. E. Parten of Royston Services were Monday, Dec. 17, at Pruitte Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Darvin Slayton, James White and David Coker. Burial in Gordon Baptist Church cemetery.
