Final rites for Mrs. Etta Roach Phillips, 72, were conducted last Thursday at 3 
p.m. from the Pennington Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Milford and 
the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with 
grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Phillips, a daughter of the late Jim and Mary Jane Phillips Roach, died at 
2:10 a.m. last Wednesday in Cobb Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was 
born in Franklin County.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Phillips; a son, J. Robert Phillips of 
Lavonia; two daughters, Mrs. Guy Hart and Mrs. Bud Bond, both of Royston; a 
sister, Mrs. Elmer Belk, of Royston.
