Franklin County Citizen, July 1948
Funeral services were held Saturday for Mr. Isom Phillips of Sandy Cross. Mr. 
Phillips died last Thursday at the age of 63.  He had been ill for some three 
months prior to his death.  He was born in Franklin County, and in 1905 was 
married to the former Miss Hattie James, who now survives him.  He was a faithful 
member of the Zidon Baptist church and a leader in his community.

Services were conducted from the Zidon Baptist Church with Reverend officiating.  
Burial followed in the churchyard.

Surviving in addition to his wife are seven children; Mrs. O.B. Tribble, Rome; 
Mrs. Keifer Cromer, Royston; Mrs. Grover Connaly, Athens; Mr. W.J. Phillips, 
Royston; Mr. Cody Phillips, Washington, D.C.; Mr. Herbert Ray Phillips, Royston; 
Miss Sarah Joe Phillips, Royston. One sisters, Mrs. Bennett Parten, Royston; four 
brothers; Lester, Clarence, Cluster, and James Little, all of Royston.

Cunningham & Pruitte Funeral Home was in charge.
