Death claimed Eleanor Elizabeth Phillips, resident of Sandy Cross community on 
Thursday, September 30. Miss Phillips, a pioneer citizen, was 89 years of age. She 
had been in declining health for four years before she passed away at the home 
Willis P. Roach.

Miss Phillips was a native of Franklin County, the daughter of the late Dennis and 

Sarah James Phillips. She was a member of the Zidon Church.

Funeral services were held from the Zidon Church on Sunday, October 1, with the 
Reverends S.A. Phillips and Elmer Sellers officiating. Burial was in the Zidon 
Cemetery.

One sister, Mrs. Lona Crow, of Morton, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews 
survive.

B.D. Ginn was in charge of funeral arrangements.
