Phillips, aged lady of Sandy Cross community, died at the home about one o'clock Thursday morning after an illness of several months. Her condition was such that death was not unexpected. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon, at Zidon church, Rev. W.T. Holcomb officiating. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery amid a large number of kindred and friends. Mrs. Phillips, who before her marriage, was Miss Henry Rebecca Mealor, was one of the most beloved women of her community and her passing is mourned by a host of friends. She was the widow of the late Lemuel T. Phillips, prominent citizen of the county. She was a devout member of the Zidon church and lived a most useful and christian life, and was ever loyal to her family and friends. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. J.P. Minyard, Mrs. Lizzie Roberts, Mrs. Van Roberts, Willie D. Phillips, M.C. Phillips, Charlie Edward Phillips, and F.F. Phillips, four brothers, John, Van, Mem. and Will Mealor, three sisters, Mrs. Lettie Witcher, Mrs. Martha Bennett, Mrs. Emma Phillips, 41 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
