Franklin County Citizen, November 9, 1972
Royston--Wilburn (Red) Phillips, of Kannapolis, N.C., died Thursday morning, 
November 2.

He was born in Franklin County, a son of Cluster Phillips and Myrtie Gertrude 
Cromer Phillips.

Surviving are his father; one son, Perry Phillips, Kannapolis, N.C.; three 
daughters, Mrs. Faye Ward, Concord, N.C., Mrs. Myrtle James, Mrs. Lillian Royal, 
Kannapolis, N.C.; one brother, Cleo Phillips, China Grove, N.C.; three sisters, 
Mrs. Katie Lou Blake, Augusta, Mrs. Claudelle Craft, Mrs. Mozelle Craft, 
Kannapolis, N.C.; 11 grandchildren.

The body was returned to Royston Friday. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 
p.m. at the Royston Church of God with the Rev. Ray Brandon, Rev. G.M. Chitwood, 
and Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pruitte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
